Welcome to Our New Trainers

Two new Early Childhood Education trainers joined our team this term. We warmly welcome Sherin Nurani and Jot Kaur to BCCI. They both have a lot of experience in their industry to share with our students. We asked them for some insights into the industry.
What advice would you give to students about the Early Childhood Education industry?
The childcare industry is a very rewarding industry. As early childhood education gives children the best start in life. The early years of a child’s life has been shown to have an impact throughout their entire life, across all phases of life and between generations. Early childhood educators and teachers are highly skilled professionals who play a vital role in the physical, cognitive, social and emotional development of children. There has never been a better time to start your career in early childhood education. The sector is growing, with many opportunities to develop a professionally rewarding career. Childcare is a growth industry which is set to increase at a rate of at least 20% per year.

Sherin.

I have been supporting early childhood education of young children and have been working with their families and other support professionals for the last 8 years.
My huge passion during these years has been in the provision of high quality education and care programs for each child. While working in different services, I observed that there is still a great need for educators with a very positive and strength-based approach to children's learning in the early years.
Believing in the famous African quote that it takes a village to raise the child, I decided to enter into the RTO sector so that I can prepare the future earlychildhood educators who are equipped with the strong knowledge and skills that can help them not only support children's holistic development but also advocate for their rights in having an active role in the educational process. -

What tips do you have for work placement?
One of the best tips for work placement is having a positive attitude, showing interest, enthusiasm and initiative.
