Our Story

BCC Institute was originally founded in 1986 by a passionate group of local community leaders to deliver workplace skills to its members. BCC Institute is a Registered Training Organisation delivering nationally recognised courses and accredited Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) VET qualifications.

BCC Institute gained registration on the Commonwealth Register of Institutions & Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS) in 2016.

BCC Institute is a non-profit organisation dedicated to equality of opportunity in education. We act with honesty and integrity. We deliver fundamental, good quality courses that help create more opportunities for you in your career.

To be the primary non-profit provider of essential courses in the south-western suburbs of Sydney and to contribute in meaningful and practical ways to the local community.

STEPHEN JENKINS

Stephen Jenkins

President

Stephen Jenkins is a Partner of Madison Marcus law Firm specialising in Intellectual Property and Commercial Law. Stephen has over 30 years of practice experience having previously been the Managing Partner of Matthews Folbigg, for five years, being a law firm of in excess of 75 staff. Stephen holds a Bachelor of Laws from University of Technology Sydney, is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and is a member of the Intellectual Property Society of Australia and New Zealand. Stephen’s Board roles include seven years as a Board member of the Westmead Medical Research Foundation with three years as Chair of the Finance and Risk Committee. Stephen presently holds a Board position with Permadec a formwork and construction company in the civil contracting industry. Stephen has been a director of the College since 2016.

George Bousamra

George Bousamra

Vice President

With over ten years of experience in the education sector, George is able to form strategic partnerships to benefit the college and the community. He believes creating an exceptional student experience is imperative to inducing a high-performance learning environment. Commercially driven and innovative, as an experienced Director, Board Member, trusted Adviser and Public Speaker, George’s proven government and corporate expertise to engage, influence and manage stakeholders, build high-value collaborative partnerships and form international alliances. With a diverse professional network, a passion for improving public policy and experience in implementing innovative ICT solutions, George helps people process and accept changes in their environment by developing succinct messages, reaching out to key stakeholders, creating risk management plans and monitoring results.

MIKE SMITH

Mike Smith

Treasurer

Mike is a founding partner of Smith Hancock , Chartered Accountants , which has operated in Parramatta since being established in 1994. He has over 35 years of experience dealing with corporate insolvency and business reconstruction. Mike has a Bachelor of Economics from The Australian National University and is a Chartered Accountant. Mike has been a director of the College since 2020.

LUKE MAGEE

Luke Magee

Director

Luke Magee has worked internationally as an IT consultant throughout Australia the UK and Switzerland. He has dealt with the complex requirements of SMEs, multinational corporations, and Government department’s delivering innovative and industry best practice solutions. Luke’s formal qualifications include BEc, MBA, GAICD. Luke has been a director of the College since 2019.

Monique Knight – CEO

Parramatta Community College CEO

Monique Knight is the CEO of Parramatta Community College, bringing extensive experience across both the non-profit and private sectors. She is the founder and former Director of The Hair and Beauty Academy in Penrith, where she successfully led the organisation for 13 years. She holds VET qualifications in Business Management, Retail, Beauty, and Training and Assessment, supported by a strong background in compliance. Monique is deeply committed to creating equitable access to education and empowering communities through meaningful learning opportunities.
