Job Search Hacks

Job Search Hacks

Looking for a job can be daunting and time-consuming. However, there are certain things you can do to improve your job prospects. Check out these job search hacks!

  1. Use industry key words in your resume. Recruiters often use applicant tracking
software to sort out who knows their stuff. Find the key words in the job
    description if you're not sure.
  2. Always write a cover letter, even if it's not required. It will give you an edge over
some others and show that you're willing to go the extra mile. Google a cover
    letter template for your industry.
  3. Set up a LinkedIn profile. Make sure your connections on LinkedIn are
relevant to your industry. Facebook is for friends, keep LinkedIn for
    professional contacts only.
  4. Set up job alerts to your email. Tailor them so that they are for your desired
role, area, etc. Seek, Indeed and CareerOne are all good job search sites.
  5. Brainstorm or Google common interview questions for your industry, then
prepare your answers. Use them to practice any time you have an interview.
After a while, your answers will become automatic.
