Part Qualifications

BCC Institute delivers training under the NSW Government Smart and Skilled program. This presents local residents, particularly youth, the unemployed and other eligible learners, with the opportunity to gain new skills in short, government-subsidised vocational training courses.

About the Smart and Skilled Program

Training under Smart and Skilled is fee-free and fully funded by the NSW Government. The program is designed to assist eligible people to attain the skills they need to secure and maintain employment.

Eligibility Criteria

You may be eligible to receive funded training when at least one of the following eligibility criteria applies:

  • unemployed (whether receiving welfare or not)
  • at risk of losing your job
  • aged 16-24 years (including school leavers)
  • in receipt of any welfare payment
  • veterans and their partners
  • people employed in aged care, childcare, disability care or digital skill industries

Training Options

Face to face training

Face to face classes at BCC Institute are kept small with a maximum of 15 students per class, allowing more quality time with their trainer. Each trainer has extensive experience in their industry, providing first hand knowledge and learning techniques for their students. Training is available 7 days a week. Closed classes are also available.

Onsite delivery 

BCC Institute can deliver training for groups onsite.

Statement of Attainment in Individual Support (CPR and First Aid) Units include: HLTAID009, HLTAID011

Statement of Attainment in Individual Support (Work with People with Mental Health issues, Assess/Promote Social, Emotional and Physical Wellbeing) Units include: CHCMHS001, CHCMHS011

Recognition of Prior Learning

We understand that you may already have many skills and areas of expertise that you have obtained in different ways and these are recognised through our Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) process.

BCC Institute has a process that has been structured to minimise the time and cost to applicants and provides a supportive approach to students wishing to take up this option.

If you choose to apply for RPL to prove entry requirements, you will be provided with a kit that will assist you in deciding whether you want to apply for RPL and that helps you to collect all of the evidence you will need to provide in order for us to assess your application. A trainer/assessor will also be available to assist you. Alternatively, you can contact our office on 02 9793 8155 to discuss your RPL options.
