The NSW and Australian Governments are funding fee-free traineeships to help you gain practical skills and a qualification that’s recognised across Australia.
What’s a Traineeship?
A traineeship combines paid work with formal training, allowing you to earn while you learn and build your career with real-world experience.
All training is delivered under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF), meaning you’ll graduate with a nationally recognised qualification.
Who’s Eligible?
To access a fee-free traineeship, you must:
- Meet the Smart and Skilled eligibility criteria, and
- Be one (or more) of the following:
- A job seeker (unemployed, on income support, or expected to become unemployed)
- A young person aged 16–24 (including school leavers)
- A NSW veteran or their recognised partner or spouse
- Any individual, including employed people, training in high-demand areas such as:
- Aged care
- Childcare
- Disability care
- Digital skills
- Training and Assessment (TAE)
